AI voice agent for ecommerce stores

An AI voice agent for ecommerce calls every new cash-on-delivery order, confirms it and writes the outcome into your ERP before the courier picks it up. In a store that takes payment on delivery, an order is not done when the customer clicks the button. It is done when they accept the parcel.

What is the problem with cash-on-delivery orders?

With cash on delivery, the customer pays nothing when ordering. They may order on impulse, mistype a digit in the address or change their mind the next day. The parcel ships, the courier calls, and nobody answers or the parcel is refused. You pay the shipping both ways and the product comes back to the warehouse.

In Romania and several other EU markets, paying the courier is still common, so many stores have someone call each order. It works, but it cannot keep up: orders arrive in the evening, at weekends and during campaigns, and a person can only make one call at a time. This is where an AI voice agent fits. It makes the same confirmation call, the same way, at the hours you choose, today, for the orders placed today.

We do not promise a specific drop in refused parcels. What we can explain is the mechanism: a confirmed customer with a checked address is ready for the courier. The full flow is on the cash-on-delivery order confirmation page.

Which calls does an AI voice agent handle for an online store?

Order confirmation

The agent calls the customer and confirms the products, the amount to pay and the delivery address. See the COD confirmation scenario.

Address correction

The customer adds the block, staircase, flat or intercom code on the spot. The corrected address goes into the ERP, not onto a sticky note.

Retries

If nobody answers, the agent calls again at the times you set and stops after the number of attempts you choose.

After-call message

The order details, sent by SMS or WhatsApp right after the call, so the customer has them in writing. See follow-up after the call.

Abandoned checkouts

A customer who started an order and left it unfinished can be called, if they agreed to be contacted, and the agent asks whether they need help.

Feedback after delivery

A short call once the parcel has arrived, with the answers collected in your reports. See phone surveys and feedback.

What does a working day with the agent look like?

Route · 5 steps
  1. Morning, the overnight orders

New orders land in the call list. The agent starts when your calling hours start, never earlier.

  2. The confirmation call

It introduces itself as the store's virtual assistant, says the call is recorded and confirms the products, the amount and the address.

  3. The outcome, in your ERP

Confirmed, refused, address corrected or call back later. The outcome is written into the ERP and the order can move on to packing.

  4. Retries during the day

Anyone who did not answer is called again at the times in your cadence. Anyone who asked not to be called again is not called.

  5. Evening, the report

In the portal you see the calls, recordings, transcripts and outcomes. Your team only handles the cases the agent flagged.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Can the agent correct the delivery address?

Yes. During the call the customer can add the block, staircase or flat number, and the corrected address is written into the ERP. The full flow is in the COD confirmation scenario.

What happens if the customer does not answer?

The agent calls again at the times in your cadence and stops after the number of attempts you chose. Only calls nobody answers are not charged; if voicemail picks up, the call is charged as a normal minute.

Is it worth it if I only get a few orders a day?

It makes sense once you have a steady flow of orders, because there is a minimum monthly package of minutes, which you see in the estimate before you submit anything. With very few orders, a colleague may be simpler.

Can it call customers in other countries, in their language?

Yes. The agent speaks Romanian and 83 more languages; see the available languages. Calls to EU numbers have their own rate, shown in the estimate.

Do customers know they are talking to a virtual assistant?

Yes. The agent introduces itself as a virtual assistant and says the call is recorded. We recommend it for transparency.
